DTABC Suggested Fee Guide
is coming by Jan. 31, 2025

Only RDT Members will have access to this Fee Guide

The suggested Fee guide will be coming soon. It will be sent out to General RDT Members, Local Insurance Companies and the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association. We are currently working to have arrangements for it to be sent out to every Dental office in BC.

Please be patient as we are working on the best possible way to send these files to everyone so they are user friendly and in an efficient orderly manner.

The methodology used in compiling the fee guides and the rationale for why this approach represents the best business practice.

A time and motion study for a fee guide involves analyzing and documenting the time it takes to perform various tasks or procedures outlined in the fee guide. This study is often conducted in professional or service-oriented settings, such as healthcare, legal practices, or consulting services. The goal is to assess the efficiency of processes, identify bottlenecks, and improve overall productivity.

In the context of a fee guide, the time and motion study may include:

  1. Procedure Evaluation: Assessing the time taken for each specific task or procedure mentioned in the fee guide. This could involve interactions with clients, paperwork, data entry, or any other activities relevant to the fee structure.

  2. Workflow Analysis: Examining the sequence of steps involved in delivering a service or completing a task. This helps identify areas where processes can be streamlined or optimized to save time.

  3. Resource Allocation: Determining the allocation of resources (staff, technology, etc.) to each task to understand how efficiently resources are utilized in relation to the fee structure.

  4. Identifying Inefficiencies: Pinpointing any inefficiencies or redundancies in the current processes that may contribute to delays or increased costs.

  5. Benchmarking: Comparing the time required for specific tasks against industry standards or best practices to assess performance.

  6. Data Collection: Gathering data through observations, interviews, or automated tracking systems to accurately measure the time spent on each activity.

By conducting a time and motion study for a fee guide, organizations can make data-driven decisions to enhance their operational efficiency, provide more accurate fee estimates, and ultimately improve the overall service delivery process.
